Located just 2 hours from Manhattan, this cabin is the perfect retreat for city dwellers seeking a getaway in the heart of Upstate New York. Combining modern furnishings with cozy comforts, the home offers a peaceful escape while still being close to excellent dining, shopping, and outdoor activities. Set on 2 acres, the property provides tranquility in nature and even features its own private stream—an ideal spot for experiencing authentic upstate living! The space Cozy Living Room: Large sectional sofa, 55” flat-screen TV with Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and more. Fast WiFi throughout the home and a dining area perfect for remote work or light meals. Fully Equipped Kitchen: Includes essentials for most cooking needs, a Smeg coffee maker, and an electric tea kettle. Comfortable Bedrooms: Two spacious rooms with queen beds. European-style bedding (no top sheet); all linens are freshly washed between guests. Bathroom: Small bathtub ideal for a relaxing soak—Epsom salts provided. Cooling: Window AC unit in the larger bedroom; window fan in the smaller room. Important Notes – Staying in a 1970s Cabin in the Woods Well Water: The house uses well water, which can have a natural sulfur/mineral smell—especially in the bathroom. It’s safe to drink, and a BRITA filter is available in the fridge. Woodland Setting: Expect to see bugs outside—and occasionally inside. You are in the woods! If you spot signs of an infestation (rare), send photos and contact me right away. (Fun fact: It only happened once—when a guest left marshmallows out.) Laundry Access: Washer and dryer are in the unfinished basement, which is not part of the rental space. You're welcome to use the laundry, but if a rustic basement would bother you, this may not be the right listing. Yard Care: Depending on recent weather, the grass may be a bit long. I do my best to maintain it, but I’m not always on-site. Pet Policy: Dog-friendly home. Please keep pets off the couch or use provided covers. My cleaner wipes everything down, but if a stray dog hair would upset you, this may not be the right fit. Additional Info Holiday Lights: Christmas lights are set to turn on Friday–Sunday, 9PM–12AM. Want them on another night for a fire? Just message me—I'll adjust the schedule. Please don’t unplug the smart plug. WiFi Info: Available in the app guidebook, check-in instructions, and on the fridge. Important Note: Due to an increase in dishonest behavior from past guests, I have unfortunately had to install surveillance outside the property. Guest visitors are welcome—please be courteous and avoid leaving excessive evidence of visitors for myself or the cleaning crew. Anyone staying overnight must be included in the reservation. I value privacy and want my guests to feel at ease; however, a few irresponsible guests have forced me to take this precaution to protect the property and ensure a great experience for the majority of responsible guests.
