The space La Casita Azul is a charming original beach cottage, full of character and coastal charm. As with many classic seaside homes, it was designed to take advantage of natural ventilation and ocean breezes. To ensure comfort during warmer months, we’ve recently added two air-conditioning units, along with ceiling and portable fans, to help keep the home cool. We recommend opening the windows and back doors upon arrival to invite in the fresh ocean air and allow the space to naturally ventilate — a favorite ritual for many guests. By the afternoon, the cool beach breeze typically rolls in, creating a comfortable and refreshing coastal atmosphere throughout the cottage. Guest access There is onsite parking for up to three vehicles. Bikes are also available for cruising along the beach and for rides to the Harbor or into town for lunch and shopping. The quaint neighborhood is great for morning or sunset walks along the neighborhood and the Oxnard dunes. Other things to note La Casita Azul is ideally located for exploring both the coast and the surrounding countryside. Enjoy a scenic drive north along the Pacific Coast or head inland to Ojai, a beloved bohemian retreat known for its relaxed energy, excellent dining, wellness spas, art galleries, and award-winning wineries. The nearby Channel Islands National Park offers unforgettable day trips, including whale watching, hiking, kayaking, and wildlife viewing. Boat tours and excursions depart from Channel Islands Harbor, just a short walk from the cottage. Guests also enjoy easy access to Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Carpinteria for additional dining, shopping, and beach exploration — all within a comfortable day trip.
