Description

This exquisite 1860 renovated farm house is ideal for family or friends gatherings or retreats. It's close to attractions in nearby villages & cities (just over an hr east of Toronto). The farmhouse has 6 bedrooms- one on the main floor and six on the second floor. It's cozy from fall until spring and stays cool in the summer. It's situated on over 100 acres of ecologically diverse land with trails throughout. The space This is magnificent space to rent for short or extended periods of time for individuals, families, colleagues or small groups seeking time in a private fully amenities house and/or in nature. In the heart of Northumberland Hills this property is a sacred space focused on regeneration and well being. It's also a place groups and families book to be with each other. Whether walking the many trails (over 100 acres) or sitting by the fire this is a tranquil space enabling one to choose rest, play, the creative arts to stimulate imagination or a mix of all. The 1860 renovated 6 bedroom farm house includes a full amenities kitchen with a spectacular masonry. We do not provide meals or food unless requested. Feel free to be in touch to inquire about breakfasts items for a supplemental fee. The dining and living area has a wood stove and fully operational fire place. There are six bedrooms; one with a queen bed, two with double beds, one with a single and double bed, and two bedrooms with two single beds. All are heated. Two 2nd floor bedrooms have window air conditioners if needed. There are two full amenities bathrooms. The outdoor patio has a table, chairs and BBQ. There is ample room to park vehicles. One can store bicycles in the workshop barn. About 1/2 km from the farm house is a 30 foot diameter yurt perfect for circles, yoga, tai chi and the arts which you can have full access to with a supplemental fee of $150./day (includes heat with propane stove) or $275./wkd. Additionally there are two cabins - one is “Haven on the Hill-top", on the first hill overlooking many miles of nature. There is a high quality pull out twin sofa on the main floor and a double mattress in the loft of Haven on the Hill-top. There is a second cabin called "Haven in the meadow'. This cabin has a high quality pull out sofa on the main level and a queen mattress in the loft. here is a loft in the cabin which has a double sized mattress. If you wish to access the cabins for sleeping please notify us. There is an additional charge for the cabins of $175./night (minimum 2 night stay) and they can accommodate up to 2 people. The cabins have a heat source. They are magical! Also on this hill overlooking the valley is a stone labyrinth based on the one in Chartres, France. There are trails throughout the over 100 acres of meadow, forest and protected waterways perfect for walking all seasons and during our winter wonderland, for snow shoeing or cross country skiing. We are planting organic gardens, orchards and native vegetation which support soul-stirring personal retreats and also fortify wildlife such as the butterflies, bees and bluebirds. Produce is available to purchase by guests. Creating an area of nature, a tree house and fairy gardens that involve children and kindles their imagination is envisioned. We’ll keen to meet people who also care about making a difference and envision living and leaving a legacy which supports future generations. We hope you’ll be able to take advantage of experiencing the magic of this property. On the property there are additional opportunities for guided trail or labyrinth walks, mentoring sessions, facilitation in “the work” of Byron Katie with the host, Leslie. Details for spa services in nearby villages can be provided when requested. We are a smoke free in the buildings and pet free space (but have made exceptions - speak to the host please) , friendly for environmentally sensitive folks. You are welcome to speak with the host regarding young children. There are amazing nearby attractions such as Presquile Park (large sandy beach), quaint villages, and Sandbanks. Because there is not a way to add the 13% HST on the final cost the taxes are included within each of the prices noted. Typically there is a two night minimum. For holidays and long weekends we ask for a three night minimum. You'll find the time worth it! Guest access You will have a key to come and go as you please. We ask for a $500. damage deposit which will be returned soon after check-out. Other things to note This is for the full farm house and property booking. We (the hosts) also access the trails at times to walk our dog. If you are wanting one room only or Haven on the Hilltop and don't mind sharing the common areas then check in with the host to discuss other options.
