Getaway for up to 3 Guests - minutes from I-95
A peaceful retreat in our Colonial style home. This is a listing for 2 or 3 guests in TWO bedrooms. The first has a queen size bed for 2 (see our separate listing for this room only), and the second room has a twin (single) size bed for one person. This is a good option when traveling with one child, or for two travelers who want separate beds. Sorry, non-smokers only. We are fully COVID vaccinated. The space These TWO guest rooms sleep a maximum of THREE (3) people. If you want ONE bedroom for 1 or 2 people, please see our other less expensive listing. We have traveled often with AirBnB and know that guests prefer a variety of interactions. We are happy to leave you alone, and happy to engage in conversation. We can provide excellent advice on dining, travel tips, recreation and antiquing in our region. The first guest room is upstairs on the NE corner of the house, and it is dark at night, particularly in the summer time. In the morning the two large windows let in plenty of sunlight. You can close the blinds if you need it darker. You might hear a faint train whistle in the night, and the murmur of distant traffic. The second guest room (just across from the first) is on the front of the house and has three bright windows (with blinds). A good twin bed sleeps one person. We use the big table regularly for projects, and may need access during your stay. Laundry supplies are also in this room. These rooms are ONLY offered to the same group of travelers, so you will never bump into strangers in the bathroom. We have a dog named Tucker, and two super friendly cats; Willow and Zoomer. The litter box is in a closed basement room far from your space. The cats do sleep on the landing at the top of the stairs. To enter our home there is a porch with a concrete sidewalk and low steps to the front door (see photos). The covered entry includes handrails. The guest room is up a regular flight of carpeted stairs with handrails on both sides. The bathroom has permanently set hand holds for safety in the shower. The gazebo and backyard patio is accessed by stairs with handrails. Our backyard is lush and large, and includes a screened gazebo, an upper deck and a lovely lower patio with a porch swing. You are welcome to sit on the bench outside the front door and enjoy the garden. A pot of hot coffee (1/2 reg & 1/2 decaf) is on every morning. You can put food in the kitchen refrigerator - just make space as needed. No parties, events or illegal activity please. Quiet time is 10:00 pm, particularly on work nights. Guitar players welcome. Please respect our neighbors by parking on our driveway only, and not being loud outside. This listing is for TWO rooms for up to THREE guests only. We have a separate listing for only the queen bedroom for two guests. Our main goal is to have guests feel comfortable and leave feeling refreshed for a new day of travel and exploration. Guest access Our neighborhood is compact and quiet. Please park only on the right side of the driveway, in the big spot between the street and our sidewalk. We ask that guests not be loud outside or be annoying to our neighbors. If at all possible, please arrive by 8:00 pm, or check-in earlier, before going to dinner. It is important that you meet our dog Tucker before coming home late at night. Thanks in advance. Check-in is 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. We provide guests with a key for later access. Guests are allowed one load of laundry per person per night. Please ask for help with the machines if necessary. During your stay We try to let guests guide us while interacting, so we know how much to engage in conversation. Please let us know what you need. You are not going to hurt our feelings if you just want to be left alone. Likewise, quiet time is 10:00 pm - and we ask that guests let us alone after that hour. Other things to note Our dog is friendly and well socialized, but gets excited when company arrives. Tucker will want to greet you with enthusiasm, and will probably sniff you awkwardly. Tucker can sleep in our bedroom at night, but normally sleeps in the living room. When you arrive, please take a few minutes and get to know Tucker a little, so he can get your scent and know you are friendly. We will help with that of course. Please do not get right down in Tucker's face, he doesn't like that.
