Whether you take to the trails to snowshoe, hike, snowmobile, bike or lounge the days away on the lake fishing, boating, canoeing, or swimming, you will feel at home in this rustic & cozy main-floor, no-stairs, open-concept suite. The space Temagami Times is a welcoming and comfortable environment to recharge, reconnect and enjoy the great outdoors. Area: Temagami is a small tourist town that is surrounded by pristine lakes and forests as far as the eye can see. Popular among canoeists, kayakers, boaters, cottagers, campers, hikers, those who love fishing all seasons, hunters, dirt bikers, and snowmobilers. Temagami’s population increases immensely when cottage season begins. Temagami includes Marten River, Temagami North, Bear Island-Temagami First Nations community, and areas of Smoothwater Provincial Park. Located directly downtown, within a 5-minute walk to accessing Lake Temagami and Cassells Lake. During the summer, you can expect to see Lakeland Airways plane "The Beaver" fly over the house a few times a day. The train travels through town twice a day. Property: The backyard is private and backs onto a secluded and treed landscape. (The side property and hot tub are privately used by the hosts and are not available for guest use). Guests have access to a covered deck with table and chairs, a rustic bar, and BBQ. Airbnb: The open concept living/dining/sleeping area is bright, spacious, and inviting. The home is built on a concrete foundation; therefore, everything is on one level, and there are absolutely no stairs inside or out. The floors can be a little cool in winter. (Recommended to bring indoor shoes or slippers) There is plenty of room at the front of the house to park vehicles and toys/trailers. There is a short walk on a paved path from your vehicle to the back of the house where the entrance to the Airbnb is. Walk onto a ground-level covered deck where you can enjoy lounging in your own private space overlooking a treed and garden landscape. Open the glass sliding door, and you will instantly feel comfortable and at home in this cozy open concept suite with kitchenette and bathroom. The custom-built features bring much warmth to the space. The rooms are stylish and incorporate a rustic flair with locally made custom-built wood furniture and art. The living space consists of a bistro table and chairs, ambient lighting, comfortable loveseat & stool. The bedroom's greatest feature is its custom-built queen-size headboard with built-in lights and electrical USB chargers. Custom-built side tables add to the design as well as storage for personal items. The kitchenette is complete with everything you need to prepare a home-cooked meal. A very inviting space designed and built by the hosts to maximize space and convenience. Cooking appliances include a one-burner induction cooktop, convection/toaster oven, microwave and BBQ. Guests will want to come prepared with groceries as Temagami has one grocery store that is open from May-October. The bathroom is completely private. Spa-like, it includes granite countertops, bathrobes, a walk-in shower for 2 (two shower heads at each end of the shower) and a separate makeup/vanity area. The open concept living/dining/sleeping area is bright, spacious, and inviting. The outdoor living space overlooks a treed landscape, and guests can lounge on the deck under a covered porch. Guest access We are an active community that embraces the outdoors. In town, all amenities are within walking distance. Enjoy accessing and exploring the many hiking/biking/cycling/snowmobiling/dirt biking trails that are just around the corner. Many guests get around town by foot, automobile, snowmobile, four-wheeler, side-by-side, bicycle, or motorcycle. Access to the OFSC trails is across the street from the house. Public parking is available, and there are three municipal parking lots in town. There are a few municipal boat launches in town free of charge. There is ample paved parking at Temagami Times for boats, trailers, and vehicles. The entrance to the Airbnb is at the back of the house. Other things to note We have recently listed our second Airbnb on the property. It is titled Temagami Times-Your Cozy Retreat! Within a five-minute walk, you have access to Temagami Lake, Cassels Lake, and Caribou Lake. Great fishing year-round! Finlayson Provincial Park is a short walk from town, and Lake Temagami offers Crown land camping at no cost, first come first serve. The grocery store (Our Daily Bread) is open during the months of May-October. From November-May it is a 45–60-minute drive to access a grocery store; however, you can purchase some basic convenience items from the gas station or Drifters. It is advisable to bring all groceries and supplies with you. The stores and services you can access are: LCBO, Temagami Cannabis Company, Country Style, Burgers Plus, Petro-Canada Gas Station, Cassels Marine & Powersports, Pharmasave Temagami, Canada Post, Temagami Outfitting Co. , Temagami Subs, Living Temagami Arts & Culture, Temagami Medical Centre, Chamber of Commerce, ambulance & fire, skatepark, library, municipal office, and town docks.
