Come sleep in history! The Nauvoo Manor affords you the opportunity to stay in a Nauvoo Mormon Pioneer home! This historic home is just seven blocks from the temple and sleeps up to nine comfortably. One of only a few Nauvoo red brick Pioneer homes not owned by The LDS church. The Manor is located next to the historic road to Carthage. Rufus Abbott started building this home in 1839 and finished it in 1845 just before his family left with Brigham Young to travel to Salt Lake City in Feb 1846. The space As an authentic Nauvoo red brick pioneer home, just blocks away from the Nauvoo Temple, this home will give you the experience of Nauvoo and let you live where the pioneers lived. You will experience the history you learned about at the church restoration sites down on the flats. A unique and special opportunity indeed! Guest access Guests will have full access to the entire house with the exceptions of the cellar (which is only accessible via outside the house), the attic (the door to the attic is located in the "Joseph and Emma" bedroom upstairs) and the "owner's closet" (door is located next to the fireplace in the "Joseph and Emma" bedroom). The detached garage/apartment east of the house is a private residence with shared access to the yard. Other things to note *Please use the correct number of anticipated guests when making a booking request in order to get an accurate booking cost for the Rufus Abbott Manor. Our pricing consists of a base price and then $15 per person/night after 2 guests. The pricing is set this way so that the entire house can be reasonably available for a couple or small group, instead of only having a higher base price reflective of a larger house that accommodates bigger groups. Overnight guests must be on the booking. Guest must confirm number of overnight guests the week prior to their stay. *The detached garage is a private resident. They will be using the east side of the driveway (side closest to the field) and will also have access to the yard.
