Little Farm Cottage - Country near the Coast

This rustic 1940's, New England farm cottage sits surrounded by open space in the Heart of South County. There are gardens and outdoor spaces to enjoy peacefully after a long day of adventure. With a Central South County location. it is close to beaches, restaurants, shopping, rail, URI, and all points N and S. Newport is a scenic 20 minutes away. We care about our guests & our natural environment. We are not corporate, we are pure New England, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The space The space is in a small cottage that sits on 1.5 acres surrounded by a tree plantation. You will have the entire top floor which, although rustic in nature, offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. The house is open and bright with lots of light. The bathroom is oversized, and the back deck offers more living space out of doors. Note that I am often staying at the property in a separate downstairs unit, but respect the space and privacy of my guests. One of the things I love about this space is the privacy from neighbors, and the nature that surrounds. The back yard feels like an oasis miles from nowhere, yet you are a 15 minute car ride to everything South County offers. Guest access Top floor space - This home sits back and up from the road and has plenty of off street parking and a dark night sky. There are stairs that lead up to your private deck space and cottage access. Guests are free to roam the property but are asked to stay within marked borders. The separate space below is an office and efficiency reserved for my use. Due to the rural nature of the property, a car or uber would be needed to get around. Most top destinations are only a 5 to 20 minute car ride away. The main N/S highway 1 is just 5 minutes up the street. In the other direction, the road leads to the heart of the area business district (Wakefield) 10 minutes away. You can stock up and never go to the store, or "run into town" for a last minute item. URI campus, NOAA, Oceanography Grad school, Golf courses, RI's best Beaches, Historical Museums, Great restaurants, Farmers markets, the Block Island Ferry, Newport Bridge - all within a 15 mile radius of this home base. Other things to note Beach chairs are provided upon request as they are kept in the shed. Off street parking available. Linens and towels included, with spare linens, blankets and pillows stored in closets. The rural road is sometimes busy so use the side space to park, and pull out facing forward. It is an easy, 5 minutes to Rt 1 N and S, or take the rural road into town. We love to host! Attention is paid to detail to create a home away from home. There are few places in South County with both solitude of landscape and proximity to area attractions! The outside world is full of adventure, but you come back to a retreat. We are a poison and pesticide free property, We also do our best to clean with non toxic products - creating a space that is healthy for mind, soul and body.
