Relax in historic luxury, as you enjoy a beautifully restored, 1st floor apartment in beautiful downtown Wilkes Barre. Originally housing Wilkes Barre Coal Co. coal baron and his wife, you will see the life of luxury they once lived. Located across from the Susquehanna River, this 2100 sq foot unit is steps away from Wilkes University, Kings College, The FM Kirby Center, numerous restaurants, theaters, hospitals and so much more. The building is three floors, each floor it's own apartment. There are permanent, quiet residents on the second and third. We reserve the first for Airbnb. You have private access to the apartment using the front door. You can leave through the back door but your keycard only operates the front. Each bedroom has a large storage rack for clothes and a queen size bed. Our kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses, stemware, silverware, and brand new appliances. Additionally, we provide a Keurig machine with a selection of k-cups, and a state of art, reverse osmosis water filtering machine. Cleaning products are under the sink. Attached to the building is a beautiful, private courtyard, perfect for pausing to catch your breath in the fresh air. Two parking spots are provided in the lot adjacent to the building. The lot is secure, and protected with video surveillance. You can come and go as you please! There are a many eateries and stores within walking distance. Because the apartment is directly across from the river, you have access to walk or bike (bikes not provided but there is plenty of space to store them if you bring your own) on the beautiful concrete dike. Fishing is also an option! You can tour the Wilkes or Kings college campuses, see a play at the F.M Kirby Center, catch a new release at Movies 14 or find your favorite watering hole or ethnic cuisine! The building is in a quiet area of downtown Wilkes Barre. Just a street or two away from the hustle and bustle of downtown living. You can walk to many places! Uber and Lyft are also readily available options. Last but certainly not least- this building is a home to two families and next door to a five-story iconic building in downtown that is filled with young, working professionals. We require you to be respectful of both! Your stay is limited to the entire 1st floor apartment, and we ask that you do not use the shared staircase to access the other two floors. Our property is non-smoking (of any kind). Any party or large gathering is not allowed. We ask that you bag up and remove all garbage prior to your departure. The garbage bin is located in the parking lot attached to the building. Any questions, please ask!
