We are close to Downtown Montpelier, the smallest Capitol City in the US. Yellow Gables offers contemporary accommodations including air conditioning, with a vintage feel. With two bedrooms, a large and comfortable Living/Dining Area, a kitchenette and a full bathroom. There is gigabit fiber with great Wi-fi for streaming and many books to choose from. The space Located on a main road into downtown, we have all the benefits of living in the Capitol City with all the charms of country life. We have nearly 3 acres of mostly lawn and apple trees and if you are lucky enough to come during August, we have ample blueberries to add to your morning cereal. Yellow Gables is its own 2-story apartment attached to our main house, yet it is completely private, well divided and sound proofed. We do have two smaller dogs so you may hear an occasional bark! The living/dining area is spacious and welcoming with cozy chairs and a love seat, great lighting and a TV. The kitchenette is in the same footprint with a good sized refrigerator, countertop stove and convection oven, a microwave and everything you need for a lovely meal at home. The Aspen is the larger bedroom with a Queen sized bed, high top and memory foam mattress for you to melt into at night. The room has antique furniture to provide the quintessential farm house experience with a rocking chair to read your favorite book. The Olive is a smaller room with a full sized bed. The mattress has a memory foam topper so your sleep will be sound and supportive. There is a desk and comfortable chair to snuggle down and read a book or meditate about the day ahead. There is a full black and white tiled bathroom with a tub/shower and a radiant heat floor. During the warmer months, there is a lovely sofa on the front porch and an outdoor eating and barbeque area with plenty of seating. Enjoy a Vermont getaway for a winter hideaway, summer vacation, romantic escape, girls' weekend, honeymoon, writer's retreat or family trip. Whether you want to explore our many awards winning town and the surrounding areas or truly get away from it all, Yellow Gables is a spacious and beautiful home-base. -- Guest access Yellow Gables is walking distance to town, less than a mile but we are on a hill so the walk back up is invigorating! There is bus service into town should that be your preference. Parking is free on the driveway right in front of your walkway to the apartment. There are many lovely walking areas around the house. Three separate and circular neighborhoods and 2 woodsy and more involved walking areas. Maps will be included. Other things to note There are so many amazing facets to our sweet Capitol City!
