Beautiful one bedroom apartment in the heart of Harlem with great subway/bus access. The unit comes completely furnished with a full sized bed and sofa, wifi and has a fully stocked kitchen. Other things to note The A/C unit may be installed upon request for an additional fee of $6 per night per unit installed. The additional payment will be process thru the Airbnb Resolution Center prior the installation. The building uses a steam radiator heating system, which is common in New York City. Here is a brief explanation so you know what to expect. How the steam radiators work: The boiler heats water and turns it into steam. The steam travels through the pipes and into the radiators. As the steam cools, it releases heat into the room and then turns back into water, which returns to the boiler to be reheated. This cycle keeps the apartment warm. Required heating temperatures in New York City: During the NYC heating season (October 1 to May 31), the law requires: • From 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM: indoor temperature must be at least 68°F when the outdoor temperature is below 55°F. • From 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM: indoor temperature must be at least 62°F, regardless of outdoor temperature. About heating noises: You may sometimes hear hissing, clicking, or banging sounds from the radiators or pipes. This is normal for steam systems and happens when steam moves through the pipes or when metal expands and contracts as it heats and cools.
