Cedar Island is part of the National Scenic Outer Banks byway along the coast of North Carolina, famous for its beaches, boating, hunting and fishing. Courtney Cottage (named for a fisherman who first settled the property) is nestled near the 14,000 acre Cedar Island Wildlife Preserve. The cottage is a shoreside peaceful getaway to escape from the everyday hustle and bustle and catch a breath of fresh, salty air. **This listing does not have water access.** The home sits off the road with a view of the Cedar Island Bay from the screened-in back porch. The property is surrounded by mimosa trees and landscaped garden areas. There is a small dock and boat launch less than a mile down the road. It is a 10 minute drive to the Cedar Island Ferry Terminal and the Cedar Island Beach. The neighborhood is very quiet and secluded. It is a 15-20 minute walk to the Cedar Island Wildlife Preserve and public boat launch. It’s the perfect road to take take a stroll, walk the dog, or ride your bike. **The area is regularly sprayed for mosquito control by the county/town truck. We do have one kayak you are welcome to use as well as a crab pot. The house is great to stay in now but will only get better with time and effort.
