This is your home away from home close by great restaurants, mountain golf courses, peaceful hiking trails, Ski Apache, Ruidoso Downs Race Track and the casino at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. The living room is the perfect comfortable place for family visits or movie watching with some fresh popcorn. The kitchen has beautiful countertops, a breakfast bar and is fully equipped with quality appliances, coffee maker, dish ware, flatware and cookware. The first bedroom has a king bed and the second bedroom has a queen bed. The back deck is furnished with a grill and comfortable chairs perfectly situated for enjoying your morning coffee or a sunset glass of wine beside the tall pines. Plenty of wildlife (deer and elk) frequently stroll through this neighborhood. You will access the house through the front door. The owner lives on the property upstairs but has her own entrance and exit. You will have privacy throughout your stay. The spacious driveway can accommodate up to two vehicles. You will be located near the popular upper canyon area. Walking trails are minutes away (the Links, Wingfield Park and Two Rivers Park ). Trail heads are less than a ten minute drive (Cedar Creek, the Forrest Service Walking Trail and Perk Canyon are favorites). Fishing for trout, catfish and small mouth bass are close by at Grindstone Lake and Alto Lake. Mountain Bike Trails are numerous and only a few miles from the house (Cedar Creek has trails for the whole family. Lower & Upper Geriatrics and the Grindstone Trails offer challenges for the intermediate cyclist). Fun Trackers is the destination for go cart rides, putt putt, bumper boats and a human maze - less than a five minute drive. I give my guests space but am available when needed You will be able to check yourself in to the house with code we will provide the day before you arrive, so we may not meet you during your stay at the Happy Owl Retreat. However we live close by this property (less than 2 miles) so we can respond quickly if you have a need during your visit. The Happy Owl Retreat is located just south of the lovely Upper Canyon. Midtown shopping, dining and coffee shops are less than a mile away and many other attractions are only a short drive.
