It is so peaceful, quiet and calm here. The house is located between the center of town and the De Anza Country Club, 1.8 miles from restaurants, shops and a grocery store. The adjoining 1 1/2 acre lot (part of the property) has a full grown circle of 4 ocotillo cacti. Don't miss the red blooms in the spring on these beauties! Firewood is not provided for the indoor fireplace or outdoor firepit. SUMMER is extreme in Borrego Springs! Be prepared for temps over 100F after 10 am. Winds, pop up thunderstorms, brief power outages, brief internet outages can all happen within minutes of each other. The county and other services quickly remedy these situations however. Please do not put the pool cover on during the summer and please leave the hose with a trickle of water ON. This helps to maintain the water level to keep the pool equipment operating properly. We have 2X weekly pool service during the summer to help maintain the purity of the water. You should check the pool each morning for critters and scoop them out ASAP with the leaf skimmer net provided. All is good with chemicals with the double weekly service. The laundry is in the garage which is now being converted into a finished laundry room. Other things to note POOL Since not everyone will want to use the pool during the winter months we want to keep our rental rates as affordable as possible so there is a $20/daily fee if you want the pool heated in April and October. Beginning in May through September the pool will stay above 80 F without the heat pump. There is a $40/day fee, of your entire reservation, during the cold winter months. Please let us know in advance so we can heat it between 75 and 80 F before your arrival. You must put the cover on (bubble side down against the water) during the night to contain the heat. We usually take off the cover around noon on a sunny day and put it back on around 4pm or 5 pm. There is pool service two times per week. Service days vary, but is normally on Tuesdays and Fridays. If it is windy, you may need to use the leaf skimmer provided to clean out some debris. Putting the cover on after each use (except in the summer) helps to keep it warm and clean. There may be an occasional critter besides beetles in the pool (we are in the middle of the State Park) so the leaf skimmer will work for getting those out also. No refunds will be issued due to any critters in the pool. Please scoop them out ASAP. The pool chemicals are adjusted every 3 days so there should not be any worries about it. The pool is @ 3 feet deep on the shallow end and a little over 5 ft. deep on the deep end. No diving is allowed. During early spring and early fall it can get quite windy in the desert. Those days you will need to move umbrellas and lounge chairs under the covered back patio area for protection. Thank you! We charge a cleaning fee for the house to be cleaned before and after your arrival. However, you will need to put all of your trash outside in the bins, take out all of the food you brought in and clean up your dishes or run the dishwasher. These are necessary in case the house is empty after your departure for a few days. Thanks!
