The barn is set on a 30 acre working farm in the heart of Metamora horse country and minutes away from our quaint downtown. The space We live in a very special community roughly 36 square miles known as Metamora Horse Country. The Metamora Hunt Club founded in 1928 still gathers for organized hunts in full traditional fox hunt dress, accompanied by hounds and beautiful horses and travel through miles and miles of trails that weave through property owners including us. The spacious properties have preserved the feel of a time past and the rolling hills are unmatched in most of the lower peninsula. This is real "country" but only minutes from the modern amenities we are accustomed to. “Kairos Farm” We’re often asked about the name of our farm. “Kairos" is one of two Greek words for time. "Chronos", the other, is linear or chronological time. Kairos is a “special moment in time”. When noticed, these moments, big or small, invite us to reflect and even carry the potential for positive change. But in our busy lives they are really easy to miss. Our dream at Kairos Farm is to help people take a breath and slow down enough to experience these Kairos Moments available to us each and every day. When you arrive Mark will meet you at the South Barn entrance, go over parking and give you just a few guidelines for sharing our space effectively. We live and work here with our two children. You are our welcome guests and we are happy to show you around the gardens, schedule private swims in the pool, introduce you to our sweet animals, or give you all the privacy you want. Our hobbit inspired hut sleeps 2 (fits a queen inflatable mattress) and a level site next door is just the right size for a 2-man tent. Fire pit, porta-potty, boardwalk with seating. Reserve this spot for $125 per day, to ensure exclusive access during your stay! House Rules Please stay on Kairos Farm property. Do not enter the animal barn without Kairos Farm family or staff member. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the property and in the animal barn . Do not feed the animals without consent and supervision of farm staff. Consider signing up for our Miniature Petting Farm experience. Do not enter any animal stalls or pastures without Kairos Farm staff. Children must always be accompanied by an adult when using the swimming pool. No lifeguard on duty We ask that guests be considerate of our permanent residents and neighbors when staying at Kairos Farm. Please drive no more than 30mph on our road. If you see riders on horses, please slow way down and drive carefully around them or stop until they have passed. No street parking. Please park only in designated spots in our driveway and not on grass. Please keep all outside gatherings to the west of the barn (away from the road) and be considerate of noise levels after dinner hour. The barn is for Airbnb guests only. If you have any guests joining you at some point in your stay please let us know prior to their arrival. If you would like to have any type of Event during your stay it MUST BE APPROVED PRIOR TO YOUR STAY. The barn has Starlink WIFI and our smart TVs are set up for streaming. Our phone service is surprisingly weak for all of us neighbors here. You may have to step outside for stronger reception if your signal is too weak.
