The space The Red House is a remodeled 1935 oceanfront home on a large lot with views of the ocean, Devils Punchbowl and Gull Rock, as well as the wooded surroundings of the house. You can get up close with nature by following nearby paths or enjoy it from one of the two exterior decks. Our 2 story home offers modern comforts while preserving its antique charm. Guests must be able to navigate the original steep stairs to have full access to the home but they'll be able to enjoy a spacious home with warm colors, gorgeous paneling and comfy furnishings accentuated with lots of natural light and views from every room. The downstairs living room provides easy access to the spacious decks and accompanying ocean views. Guests can step back inside and retire in a comfy armchair or get lost in one of the cushy sofas. One can get cozy by the fireplace and take in the views or some entertainment on the flat screen cable TV. Wi Fi internet is available throughout the home. Off the living room is a private study/office with corner window views and upstairs is an escape nook for the kids with a Roku TV . Back downstairs is an expandable dining table for 6, a breakfast bar and a fully equipped and well-stocked kitchen with full selection of appliances, Keurig with complimentary coffees/teas and a dishwasher for cleaning up. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms provide accommodations for up to 6 guests and 2 lucky dogs (pet fee applicable). Upstairs two themed bedrooms offer queen size beds with 3/4 bath down the hall. Downstairs is a kid's room with a twin bed and twin trundle underneath and easy access to a full bath. The corner study/reading room has a convertible couch/bed and rocking chair as well as corner work table. Whether an extra bed is needed or a place to get some remote work done this peaceful wood paneled room offers views of the ocean, nature and gardens on the property. Your new home away from home has easy access to the Marine Gardens, a designated marine reserve, so named for its tidal pools and diverse marine life. This beach is unparalleled for tidepools, shelling and beachcombing and features an accessible tunnel into the Devils Punchbowl at low tide. Just a few blocks away is access to the Long Beach, which any surfers in your group are sure to love. Enjoy a delicious meal at famous Mo's West, pick up a bottle of wine at the Flying Dutchmen Winery or some treats at Cliffside Coffee and Sweets and head home for a luxurious soak in your private hot tub. Otter Rock has few businesses, its best for travelers who want a quieter, more relaxed vacation than say a home in town. Nearby towns to the South and North offer a surprising variety of eateries and shop, plus activities ranging from visiting the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, boat and charter rentals or exploring the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Guest can golf the nearby executive Agate Beach Golf course or the renowned Salishan Golf Course in Gleneden Beach is but a drive away. You'll find local beaches with easy access for rock and surf fishing and the Newport jetty is always a place to drop a line.
