Other things to note Knotty Pine Cottage is located about 10 minutes from the village of Penn Yan, where you'll find grocery stores, restaurants, and other essentials. Like many lake homes in the Finger Lakes, the cottage operates on well water and a septic system. The well water is safe for bathing, cooking, and everyday use, but it may occasionally have a natural mineral odor that is common in the area. For drinking water, we provide complimentary bottled water for guests and recommend bringing additional bottled water if you prefer. Please be mindful that the home operates on a septic system and only flush toilet paper.
