Sunset Spot is a wooded campsite overlooking a small creek valley. Bring your tents, trailers, or small RVs to this peaceful, secluded getaway. Located 10 minutes from Historic Philipsburg, 20 minutes from Black Moshannon State Park and I-80, and 30 minutes from Penn State University. We are conveniently located as quick, overnight stop or a home-base for exploration of Central Pa. A clean outhouse with paper and hand sanitizer provided. This primitive site has no electricity or water. Sit by the fire pit among the pines and enjoy the beautiful view of the sun setting over the next ridge. Listen to frogs chirping in the creek. Guests have access to a lovely campsite, sunlit outhouse, and quiet backroads. We will meet you when you arrive to get you acquainted with the campsite. We are available to answer questions, help with issues that may arise, and can provide additional equipment upon request. Historic Philipsburg with shops and food is only a 5 minute drive away. Penn State University and vibrant State College are a scenic 30 minute drive. Black Moshannon State Park, with hiking, kayaking, a swimming beach, and waterfront board walk, is 20 minutes away. Cars are best in this rural area. There are areas good for rugged biking nearby. Update: Purple Pines will be changing owners. We are currently accepting reservations through June 16.
