We offer a historic, four bedroom farmhouse in a peaceful, rural setting surrounded by wetlands, forrest, and farms. This is a family and pet friendly property with a private entrance, full kitchen, living and dining areas, full and half bathrooms, access to our fenced backyard, and dedicated laundry facilities. By making arrangements ahead of your stay, you can use our 3 season party barn; send us a message letting us know how and when you would like to use it. Our property is located in a tranquil valley surrounded by wetlands, farm fields, and woods. The house is an early 19th-century brick farmhouse attached to, but fully divided from, a modern wood-frame addition where we live full time. The first floor includes a kitchen, dining room, living room (with a sofa bed), one bedroom (with a full sized bed), and a full bathroom with a shower / tub. The second floor has three bedrooms (2 queen beds and 2 twin beds) and a half bathroom. All bedrooms have black out curtains and fans. Please note the house does NOT have air conditioning, which is common in Vermont. Guests access the home through a secure, private entrance and have the entire farmhouse to themselves throughout their stay. We have several parking spaces and can accommodate about 6 cars for guests. The house is centrally located in Vermont; 5-7 minute drive to downtown Middlebury and the college; 20 minutes to the Middlebury Snow Bowl ski area; 50 minutes to Burlington; 45 minutes to Rutland. We live in the adjoining addition to the farmhouse and are available to quickly answer questions or solve any problem that might arise during your stay. We offer self check in and out if you prefer to limit interaction during your stay. We have a friendly dog, Wilson!, who lives with us. Guests will not share space with him, but many of the dogs who have stayed with us have enjoyed playing with Wilson! in the fenced back yard. If your dog doesn't do well with others, we can easily keep all the furry companions separate during your stay. Let us know what you and your pets are comfortable with in terms of human / animal interactions during your stay and we will do our best to accommodate. This is a 5 acre, rural property located about 5 minutes by car from downtown Middlebury and the college. Having a car is highly recommended for your stay with us. It is a short drive into town, but it is not easily walkable. We have plenty of parking on site with several spaces for guest parking on the opposite side of the street from the house, next to our shed and the Party Barn. The Party Barn may be reserved for use by guests from spring to fall by making arrangements with us ahead of your stay. Let us know how and on which specific nights you would like to use it and we can figure out if we (and the space) can accommodate your plans. We don't have sufficient parking for large parties, but it's a great space for small to medium gatherings to listen to music, watch sporting events, livestream concerts, and host movie nights. The barn is outfitted with high speed internet, fans, a bar, a professional quality PA system with mixing board, a 120” projection screen, and an Apple TV. The barn does NOT have running water or restrooms, so the main house must be used for those needs. The barn is also not heated or insulated; it really is a 3-season space and is not usable during our cold, Vermont winters. All guests and pets who stay at the property overnight must be listed in the booking. Additional guests (beyond two) require a $25 fee per person for each night of the stay. Pets require a one time $50 fee per stay.
