Our home offers the ultimate private island experience as it's located in a community with only five other homes. Built in 2010, the house offers all modern amenities for a comfortable stay including a cook’s kitchen, four bathrooms, high ceilings, three balconies, and beautiful natural light. Feel like you are staying in the trees and enjoy the many outdoor amenities. The space This house is on Daufuskie island that requires utilizing a passenger ferry to arrive! No cars allowed. You must book a ferry to the island, the transit service to take you to the house at check in and checkout. You must also book a golf cart to get around the island during your stay. Most golf cart rental companies will deliver the cart to the house and it will be left their at checkout. All information and websites for these services are sent in your booking notes once you have confirmed your booking. A beautifully unique place, this island is like no other. We are a 5 minute walk to the beach or a minute golf cart ride. Our neighborhood has paved roads with next to no traffic which is perfect letting kids out to bike around to blow off some steam. Inside we have 11’ ceilings, a 20’ vaulted cupola and tons of natural light. Bedrooms are spacious, each attached to a bathroom. Kitchen and living room and additional large dining room are open concept. Kitchen is fully stocked for a cook’s dream. Stove is commercial grade and beverage fridge adds storage to full size refrigerator. There is a gas fireplace in the living room as well as a wood fireplace in the dining room. Lastly, we have a great playroom downstairs with corn hole, ping pong, bocce and can jam. Three balconies are ideal for outdoor time as well as is the fire pit, gas grill, and full size smoker. Guest access Entire property is yours to use but please DO NOT let dogs or children close to the pond edge. Ponds are alligator territory and not to be messed with Other things to note Daufuskie Island is a accessible by boat only! You must book water transport, a golf cart to get around, and the transit service in order to arrive at house and again at checkout. Only two dogs allowed maximum per stay. Any additional guests above 8 must be requested by guests and approved by hosts prior to arrival. There is a $25 per extra person per night fee for over 8 persons. Please keep in mind this house has two flights of stairs to enter. Not recommended for elderly and not handicap accessible. This house is across from the most impressive rookery on the island. In spring and summer up to 12 species of coastal birds come in at sunset to nest and can be seen throughout the day. There is a bench provided for your viewing pleasure. However, please keep in mind all ponds have alligators. NEVER let dogs off leash near or around the pond and do not loiter near the shore. You are safe on the benches and most gators will swim up to observe but keep your distance and under no circumstances should you feed the alligators. A fed gator is a dead gator.
