(NON-INSULATED/NON-HEATED) The Upper Bungalow is a 3-season canvas cabin PLEASE NOTE: This listing is for one OFF-GRID sleeping cabin with no electricity, running water, bathrooms or kitchen IN the cabin. porta potties 2 min walk. Beautiful solar lanterns, and battery operated lighting available for night-time use. HOWEVER, you have access to our lovely “Common House” for flushing toilets, shower, modern kitchen and dining area, which is a 5-10 MINUTE WALK or short drive from the Cabins/Campsites. The Common House is mindfully SHARED by all other guests onsite and is a wonderful opportunity to meet others and practice cooperative living. Think hostel or co-op for travelers. This Bungalow houses 2 twin mattresses (in a bunk bed), and a stand-alone twin bed (with optional extra pull-out twin under). Open seasonally (May-Oct), this cozy space has screened-in windows/doors on all four sides for the maximal amount of airflow, and minimum amount of mosquitos! This non-insulated mini-cabin is located up the hill from The Lower Bungalow not far from the pond. This cabin includes access to all hiking trails, a swimmable pond, and shared modern kitchen. Locally sourced and made pre-packaged meals, meditation and yoga classes, and more available for booking separately on request. IMPORTANT: Checkin is between 3-8pm. Please arrive before 8pm as it is difficult for us to accommodate late arrivals. PARKING: • Nov-April parking is located in the Common House Parking Lot. (5 minute walk to bungalow) May-Oct guests may park in the Lower Green Parking Lot (1-minute to bungalow). Under certain circumstances you may drive your car directly to your cabin to drop off gear. (Please contact us directly before doing so). ALCOHOL-FREE VENUE: Please do not bring alcoholic beverages. NO-smoking inside cabins. Parking is free. Shared spaces include Common House bathrooms, shower, kitchen, and yoga space. Carts are available to haul your bags to your cabin or campspot. Our 40 acres is adjoined to a 100-acre nature preserve with hiking trails Please note that there are two households (the families of Ari Wakeman and Emily Adama) that live permanently on the property. (one in the lower level of the common house, and one in a cabin 200 yards from the common house.) During your rental they will maintain quiet and privacy for your group, but will remain on the property for the duration of your stay and will be available should any issues arise. SWIMMING POND: swimming at your own risk, paddleboat, canoe, kayak, lifejackets, and floaties provided in green shed by the pond. There will be an onsite caretaker who will check you in, and will possibly be using the shared kitchen, bathrooms, and hiking paths! Checkout is contactless. If you have any trouble getting in the buildings please contact Miriam or Emily through the Airbnb App or our website EarthWellRetreat(dot)com EarthWell retreat center is located in a rural township neighborhood with 10-acre minimums, and multiple county nature preserves with hiking trails. We are at least a 10-minute drive from the three surrounding towns (Grasslake, Manchester, Chelsea), ensuring a dark sky and quiet atmosphere. Please note that cabins do not have their own bathrooms. It is a 2-5 minute walk to solar-powered composting toilets or a 10-minute walk to shared indoor bathroom/shower/kitchen facilities. Those renting a campsite will use the shared pots/pans in the Common House Kitchen (Eco-Cabins have their own Kitchen Box located in the pantry). Bungalow does not come with personal campfire area. There is a first-come-first-serve fire pit with ample seating next to the pond. A portable fire ring may be available upon request. If you'd like to have a fire, check with us to see if we have wood for campfires before arriving. If we do, we'd be happy to share. Firewood for multi-day or large gatherings is NOT a part of whole venue rentals, but we can arrange a large drop off of seasoned logs for an additional cost (approx: $75-$200 depending on event size) from a local source FIRE SAFETY GUIDELINES: - Do not make a fire on windy or gusty days - Do not leave fires unattended - No fires allowed outside of designated fire pits - Empty buckets for extinguishing campfires (using pond water) are located next to the fire pit and extras may be available in the Supplies Cabin on the opposite side of the pond from the Eloos.
