Enjoy the spectacular views of the Kentucky River from this second floor studio. Located within an easy walk of hiking trails. After your hike (or whenever, you are on vacation), visit the Waterfront Grill or Hall’s on the River. They offer dining, bar, and seasonal outdoor seating. They are about a half mile down the road from the cottage. A tasting at the winery just a few minutes away will sweeten your stay. For more play, kayak rental is nearby. Guests enjoy the beautiful surroundings from our upper and lower decks. There are hammock chairs downstairs, sit back and relax. The full kitchen is an unexpected bonus. The Boonesborough boat ramp is a 5-7 minute drive. Fishing is good on the bank or by boat. Our son has even caught a few fish from the deck. We have a nearby lot to park a boat trailer if needed (2 minutes from the property). Guests are welcome in the apartment and have private areas on the upper and lower decks. There is a laundry room to the left of the front gate. In the unlikely event of inclement weather you can take shelter here. We live a few minutes down the road, happy to help or answer questions by phone . This is a rural setting, on a hillside of trees, by the river. Bugs, bird’s, and woodland animals are our neighbors and vital to the ecosystem. There is even an Eagle’s nest nearby! Bring your binoculars for bird watching. We host owls, heron, woodpeckers, and many more. We don’t have an outdoor trash can to avoid attracting bugs/animals to the property. In the summer, I have two pots of bug repellent plants on the deck. Feel free to water them if they look thirsty. Just inside the entryway there are two varieties of spray on repellent and a swat. Please park on the left side of the garage in the small gravel lot. Avoid going outside the fenced off parking area. The terrain there is not forgiving. You may find yourself with an up close, wet river view. We love our community. There are great parks, shopping, a theater, a cinema, a history museum, a brewery, a distillery, two wineries, and delicious dining options. Be sure to checkout the guidebook.
