Other things to note Quirks and things to mention: One night bookings may be available. •The 60 year old hard wood floors are sometimes a little cold in the winter months. ( Bring your favorite slippers ) We ask for you to not walk on the hardwood floors with wet shoes on or place wet towels, drinks or anything that will discolor them. We do have plenty of room for you to kick off your shoes at the door. •Keep in mind we are in a rural area so insects can and will get in at times even though we utilize pest control. We do not have control over the weather so please do not leave us a four star review for crappy weather. We love leaving five star reviews for our guest. •We use a water softener due to having hard water. The water has been tested and is fine to drink and cook with…we had it tested to see if our parents lied to us all those years ha! It does not taste the best and sometimes has a sulfur smell that we tried everything to eliminate it. We do provide a container of water in the refrigerator. •Rt 6 traffic noise may be noticed.. but usually not. Very peaceful on the back patio. In the summer months we fit one window A/C unit in the living room due to crank out windows…that’s all we can do. Ceiling fans in all bedrooms. Usually the home stays cool if the windows and doors stay shut, although you get a nice breeze at night time if they are left open with just the screen doors shut. Original 60 year old gas stove works great... likes to be pampered with a slow turn of the knobs...just like grandpa used to do.
