Postbellum Home in Bullseye of Richmond

Description

Congratulations on visiting Outdoor Magazine's #1 river town! Our house sits in the historic Oregon Hill district, and let’s just say: if Richmond were a dart board, you just hit the bullseye. Local adventures and nightlife are right outside our door. Built a decade after the Civil War, our fully updated, 2-story house has retained all of its postbellum charm. You'll sleep well on our two (real) queen beds in our quiet neighborhood, after your short walk from the river or fine southern dining. The space Whether it’s Carytown, VCU, the Jefferson Hotel, Jackson Ward & Downtown, Hollywood Cemetery, hiking trails along the river, and on and on... our house is in the middle of it all! HI! PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BOOK A RESERVATION WITHOUT MESSAGING AND CONFIRMING WITH US FIRST. THANKS! ----------------------------------- You get your own house. You'll sleep in your own queen bed(s). You will probably use the bathroom at some point, which will be all yours. Hopefully you'll shower. No one will surprise you in there. You can cook in your own kitchen. No one else will be there. You'll wake up to coffee you brewed in a coffee maker provided for you. You will drink it all, because it's all yours. After you make coffee, as much as it will pain you because you’ve fallen in love with this 142-year old gem of a house. But if you so choose, you could plop down with our 4K TV to watch Netflix. No one will ask to be in control of the remote. Or you could nab one of our books (we’re intellectuals) off the shelf. Then you'll romp around Richmond. Right? Please tell me you’ll romp around RVA at some point! Enjoy Carytown (1.5 miles), a long strip of restaurants, and craft and clothing shops, or take a tour through the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (2 miles) (there might be other people there. sorry, we can't clear out the museum for you.) Then the city is yours: microbreweries, world famous restaurants, the James River, cobblestone-covered downtown Richmond, and much more! Guest access Let's review: - 2 Bedroom with REAL queen beds - 1 Bathroom with shower/toilet - 1 more Bathroom with a toilet - Dining Room - Living Room --- 4K TV - Kitchen/Dinette --- Coffee Maker --- Microwave --- Stove --- Refrigerator - Free parking on street OR 2 Private parking spots behind house Your Bedrooms: - Real Queen Beds - Dressers - Wardrobes Other things to note FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PLACE: Q: Do you have an elevator? A: Nope. But there are only 2 floors. Q: Is the neighborhood safe? A: We wouldn't live here if it wasn't. Q: Do I need to bring towels, a hair dryer, or linens? A: Nope! We provide all these things. Q: Can I read your books and watch your TV? A: Oh, alright... Q: What does "Flexible" check-in/-out time mean? A: We will try to accommodate your check-in or check-out, no matter what time it is. Note that early check ins are not always possible if we have a guest leaving that morning, as we need to allow them to check out and prepare the room for you. However, we can usually allow you to drop off luggage, and the room will usually be ready by around 2pm. If you have a late flight, you are welcome to leave your luggage until at least the late afternoon. Late check-ins are totally cool, as long as they are before midnight. Q: Will I have a key? Can I come and go as I please? A: Yes and yes. And I wouldn't trust any Airbnb listing with which this isn't the case. Q: Can my friend sleep on the sofa? A: Since you have the whole house, and access to both bedrooms, four guests is our typical maximum accommodation. However, we could possibly accommodate a larger party. But we are not hoping to host any insanely large parties anytime soon. If you have kids or infants, we don't have any specific accommodations for you, except plenty of space for you and your kiddos. Feel free to contact us with specifics about your group, and we'll be honest with you about if we can make it work. Just don't do the classic hotel trick where the 5th friend sneaks in and sleeps on the trundle. Q: What's my total booking price? A: Airbnb only shows you how much you pay. This figure should be present after you enter your dates. Q: Can I cook/use the kitchen? A: Definitely! Q: Does the home look identical to the listing photos? For the most part, yes. We’re in the process of updating our home in early 2022, so some furniture is subject to change. We’re also removing all dog and baby accoutrement. Q: Was it worth it to read this whole dang listing??? Because you read this entire listing to the end, you get bonus points for your ability to follow directions. To redeem them (for increased chance of booking!) just include the phrase "Bonus points are fun!" at the top of your message. Thanks for sticking in there! PS - Richmond is the best. We'd love to point you to our favorite places, so feel free to ask for our recommendations. Please have a great time!
