Wonderful circa 1820s home for getaways. Sparkling clean with tons of ambiance from lovely Historic Mercersburg, PA on Main St. A nicely equipped kitchen with 2 large bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. There is free off-street parking. The house is located 2 blocks from the town square with shopping and restaurants. Mercersburg Academy is 2 blocks away. Whitetail ski resort and Golf course is 6 miles. Lots of Civil War sites are a short drive, Antietam + Gettysburg; plus hiking and biking too. This lovely home is built for comfort and ambiance. The goal was to romance the guests with a quieter, historic time period, to unwind and enjoy. Lots of designer touches in furnishings and elegance, without being stuffy. Nine foot ceilings with ceiling fans, a freestanding soaking tub, oversized shower with 2 shower heads, heated toilet seat with bidet, crystal chandeliers, antique oriental rugs and artwork make this a standout residence. Two queen beds are located in their own bedrooms upstairs. Two full baths are upstairs also. The well appointed basement contains a laundry area. There is also a 50-inch TV for streaming. Bring your own Firestick or Roku for TV streaming shows. Strong wi-fi signal and a workspace at the eat in tables in the kitchen or dining area add more flexible space to enjoy. The house is located right on Main Street, so enjoy your stay with a front seat view to the activity around you. Some road noise is usual at this home. However, ironically, the backyard greenery and garden make you feel like you are in a beautiful rural setting. There is a small covered deck with chairs off the back of the house. There is also a lovely green space with garden. This residence is located across from the Historic Mercersburg Post Office. We are a couple doors down, if you need some help. This is a special historic town with a close-knit community. Neighbors help neighbors here. Everyone loves to say hello and smile. We are on Main Street so there is some road noise, with City Hall and many church bells that chime hourly. This is a quaint community, with lots to see by walking to most town features. You can enjoy your walking tour to experience the local flavor of historic homes, businesses, and buildings. Other amenities, such as civil war sites, state parks, hiking, biking, fishing, or antiquing are within a short driving distance. Guests are asked not to access the attic area and furnice room since these are areas the hosts use to service the residence.
