Besides being spotlessly clean, thoughtful extras abound, which made us feel instantly invited and welcome. We had a lazy breakfast in the sun on the front porch on our first day, which overlooks an adorably landscaped yard. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and the luxurious bathrooms were well-appointed, including generous-sized closets, perfect towels, and high-quality linens. Perfect size for a small family or two couples - cozy but spacious enough for privacy. Excellent location. Proximity to 14th street was fantastic, making it easy to eat in or take out. Gourmet, extremely well-stocked kitchen for those who want to cook. To the joy of my daughter, we took electric scooters to the Mall (and walked or ran home each day for exercise). Parking was accessible, secure, and private, easily accommodating our Prius wagon. Luckily, we had amazing weather and managed to avoid the hassle of driving during our stay. Two blocks from the U Street Corridor and U Street metro station. One block from 14th street dining. Eight minutes to most attractions, including the Capital, the National Mall, the White House, the Smithsonian Museums, and popular neighborhoods like Dupont Circle, City Centre, Adams Morgan, and more. Vibrant bars and unique shopping are close by. Sample a local brew at the Garden District, a German-style beer garden, take a culinary trip to France when you dine at Le Diplomat, or indulge yourself with the many refined tastes of D.C.’s finest restaurants such as Figs & Olive, Summit the Rooftop at Conrad, Maydan, or many other gourmet options nearby. You can find all of your grocery needs within walking distance at Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Amazon Fresh. You will also enjoy clothing and furniture shopping nearby at 14th Street, and City Centre. Everything is within walking distance of the property. The U Street metro station is only 2 blocks away. The garage at the back of the property offers parking for one car if you have one. There is also a bike available, at your own risk (please wear a helmet), if needed, and local bike rentals available on the corner as well.
