Private cabin shares 10 acres with the main house. It is surrounded by trees and only visible by the main house and the abundant wildlife. The 1200 sf cabin includes a large sleeping area, full kitchen, 3/4 bath, pool table, rock wall to kid-friendly nook, plenty of board games, and lots of outdoor seating and solitude. It is 20 minutes to Eldora for skiing and 20 minutes to the Casinos for a bit of night life. Please note:There is only enough parking for one vehicle(4wd required Sept.- May). The Cabin is perfect for families! While we have a limit of 2 adults, children are welcome! There's a queen bed, twin over full bunk bed, a huge Lovesac beanbag, a TV (with Netflix and a DVD player), plug in fireplace, table, coffee/tea bar, tons of board games (including a huge 4'x6' wall mounted, one-of-a-kind, magnetic Scrabble game), some toys for kids, and a small loft-style nook in the bedroom. There is also a deck with a nice view. The main floor has a pool table, a Roku TV, 2 bar height dining tables, a couch, and a small kitchen. Outside, there is a covered front porch and a small, private picnic area surrounded by trees. Behind the house there are ten acres of mountainous property to explore. In the summers the hummingbirds are frequent visitors and we'll keep the feeder stocked so you can watch them while enjoying the quiet. It's a great place to get away and unwind or get out to hike (or snowshoe--snowshoes are available) the local trails and check out the quaint mountain towns. We do allow pets with a one-time $35 pet fee (total, not per pet). Please confirm the number of pets with Airbnb before booking with us so the fee will be included in your charges. Otherwise, you can expect to see the fee added on after you book. We're close by (we live in the main house) and happy to share eggs (or whatever else you might need during your stay) but we want you to be able to get away from it all (including us) and enjoy time with your family and friends too. While we have a book available in the cabin with recommendations during your stay, we're happy to give you more detailed, in person advice as to what to do in the area as well. It's all up to you! We are 15 minutes to Nederland for restaurants and shopping, 20 minutes to skiing at Eldora, 20 minutes to Casinos in Black Hawk and Central City and only an hour to Denver. Red Rocks Amphitheater is 55 minutes away and Estes Park is a very scenic hour and 15 minutes along the Peak to Peak Highway. We are located 2 miles from the beautiful Peak to Peak highway off a well maintained dirt road, and most of the neighbors are on acreage. There is a creek nearby and in the summer you can hear the sounds of the creek from the deck. There are no street lights so the stars shine bright at night. Parking is next to the main house on the shared driveway and there is only enough space for one vehicle. 4wd and good tires are required in the winter (October through May). If you take Boulder Canyon (Hwy 119) it is highly recommended that you not take Magnolia in the winter, instead keep driving to Nederland and wrap around to Coal Creek Canyon (see directions). There is only enough parking for one vehicle. The narrow driveway is shared with the main house with a designated parking space for the cabin. Cell service is only through AT&T or with wifi calling. We have fiberoptic internet and while it is usually quite reliable, it can also be unavailable for reasons out of our control. In these instances we have limited AT&T hotspot available as a backup (50 GB per month). We are separated from view by abundant trees, but there are neighbors and a dirt road in the vicinity.
