Camp L-More

On the waterfront at Lake Elmore, Camp L-More offers getaways for up to six people. This classic Vermont lakefront camp with boats and its own dock offers paddling, swimming, sailing, and rowing in a pristine mountain-lake setting. Two bedrooms, living room, dining and kitchen areas, waterside deck, and garden, welcome families interested in swimming, boating, the outdoors, and life by the water. Because of family health issues, no animals or smoking of any kind are allowed in the unit. The space The 20x30 cottage includes two bedrooms (one with sink), one bath with shower, and a large room overlooking the lake that serves as living, dining, and kitchen. Outside, where we spend most of our time, is a 490 square foot waterfront deck, as well as a garden corner with chairs and table. Ours is an old-fashioned family camp, built in 1950, and designed for summer use on a clean, friendly lake. It’s not a resort. We have renovated the cottage, but not changed its basic primitive seasonal character. The cottage still gets its water for washing and bathing directly from the lake — but a separate system for bottled drinking water has been installed. The cottage sports neither air conditioning nor central heating, but all the windows open, and each room includes modern supplemental electric heaters, controlled by thermostats, for chilly nights. Guest access Two parking spots right next to the cottage. You can walk to the general store, the state park beach, and the creemee stand. Other things to note The cottage includes 11 boats: 5 kayaks, a canoe, a stand-up paddle board, a 14' wooden sailboat, a rowboat, an electric pontoon boat, and a swim float.
