Enjoy the large balcony, fire pit, pond, huge yard and parking for 4 cars. The "East Coast Greenway" is just steps away from our driveway... walk 1/2 mile to a lovely meandering waterfall. (Declare pets as "Guests".) The Cozy Cabin is loved by all... suitable for full-time living. Walls and ceilings are lined in rustic solid wood, floors are cozy carpet. Kitchen is fully equipped with full-sized appliances, blender, toaster oven, coffee maker. Beds are super comfy with high quality linens and pillows. Take walks, runs or bike rides on the East Coast Greenway, which borders our 7 acres. Just a 1/2 mile up the trail there's a beautiful meandering waterfall -- a beautiful place to meditate, picnic, or take a dip. Dogs love it too! You'll have your own 1/4 mile driveway leading to your own little parking lot, with room for 5+ cars, just steps away from your front door. There is no step up into the first floor, so it's accessible for disabled people if they're ok sleeping on the full-sized (gel/memory foam) sofa-bed in the living room. Enjoy our 2+ acre front yard with a pond, yard games, chicken coop, a tall evergreen tree surrounded by boulders... plenty of room for pets and kids to romp and play. You're just 4 miles from major Interstate highways. You can get to shopping, restaurants, recreation, University of CT within 15-minutes, and Norwich casinos or the City of Hartford within 30-40 minutes. Rocky Neck State Park beach is about 50 minutes away. We are just across the pond, literally, and our HUGE yard gives you plenty of privacy. But we're close enough to come to your rescue if you lock yourself out or need any tips for where to dine, shop, play or worship. Andover is a rural "bedroom" community with a nearby beach on a lake for swimming and boating. If you love natural scenery, just taking a long drive is fun. You'll see lots of green and farm stands along the way to Norwich (about 35 minutes), where several Casinos live. Just behind our property is 36 miles of Rails to Trails for walking, biking, running, or hiking in the woods. There's a beautiful brook with meandering waterfalls just 1/2 mile up the trail. Our house is just across the expansive front yard, about 750 feet away. For easiest arrival, we'll direct you to our address, but afterwards you'll be able to use the driveway to route 6, which is closer to the guest cabin. You're in the boonies, but can easily get to a city or suburbs. Just 4 miles up Route 6, you'll get to CT-44 and I-384 (not far to I-84/I-91). We're 15 minutes from a big mall in Manchester and every kind of restaurant and shopping you could need. Hartford is just about 25 minutes away and UConn at Storrs is about 15 minutes away. The casinos are only about a half-hour away. The spiral staircase, up to the huge (25' X 15') bedroom and workspace, can be challenging for those who are extra tall, wide, or physically compromised. Litle kids and dogs may have a rough time climbing the spiral stairs safely, and carrying them up is not a good idea. Carrying an infant up the stairs may not be advisable either. But there's an outside stairway to the balcony with a double French door into the upstairs area. In very cold, snowy weather, you may not be able to use that doorway at bedtime. One more thing... we have a septic system and well water, so it is important that you never put anything but TP in toilets and nothing but non-toxic liquids in the sinks/shower.
