Large bohemian loft: The Chromium Compound
Large bohemian loft: The Chromium Compound
Description
Large storefront converted to colorful open plan apartment in the heart of downtown Troy. Blocks away from RPI, and steps away from most of Troy's nightlife. Warning: this urban bohemian experience may bring back memories of Williamsburg Brooklyn or Downtown LA in the 90's. Note that sounds from outside and adjacent apartments may bother light sleepers, so don't book this one if that is a concern for you. Also parties are not allowed because of close neighbors! Thanks! The space This space is large (25x50 feet) and super fun. Play on the two yoga slings that hang from the 12 foot ceiling (or hook up the TRX straps if that is your thing). Lose yourself in a book while cradled by the vintage pop-art red hands love seat in the reading loft, or get to work in the front loft office space. Be forewarned: there are no windows that you can open (it is a storefront with glass in the front and some natural light, but you cant open a window for a breeze or anything). There is a bit of audible street noise: passing cars or occasionally late night revelry. You may also hear some footsteps upstairs if the neighbors leave their shoes on (which we recommend that they do not!). Likewise, you can't play music loud after 10PM because upstairs the people will be able to hear it. There is a kitchenette with induction hot plate, mini-fridge, toaster oven, microwave, and sink. There is a 56 inch TV. Note that renting this space helps subsidize the non-profit Troy Bike Rescue, which inhabits the storefront when the weather gets warm. Guest access Entrance is through the back alley. You can park a bike in the garage. There is NO CAR PARKING on site. Just in the street our front or in city garages. Detailed instructions on how to park nearby or in city garages will be sent to those who want to book or have booked.
