Utilizing living room and loft space this place can accommodate up to seven people comfortably. Be aware the loft space is accessible by ladder and is just beds in an open space. The road to the house is a short bumpy dirt driveway. This is a country home used mostly for art and spiritual retreats. It is situated 15 - 20 minutes from Santa Fe on The Turquoise Trail, a winding road that leads to Albuquerque through old coal and turquoise mines and biker bars. This home has been a retreat for artists and writers for two decades. Saltillo tile is throughout the house and the curved pine roof and windows let in a dazzling light display throughout the day. Radiant heat keeps your bones warm without further drying the air. The furniture is comfortable and in a minimal style with three beds and extra sleeping room on the couch, available cots and futons in the ample loft space. Cook dinner on a gas stove in the kitchen with concrete countertops and a massive free standing maple butcher block. At night look at the stars and listen to a concert put on by the coyotes. HOT TUB With pets welcome, wi-fi, washer and dryer, fireplace and a deep black bottom bathtub, the only drawback is you may find it hard to want to leave. But should you want to venture into Santa Fe, the drive is an uncrowded 15 minutes to the South side of town. Or venture ten minutes in the other direction to the old mining town turned anarchist outpost of Madrid where you can shop for vintage cowboy boots, eat a buffalo burger and hear some of the best roots, country western and blues music in the state. Guest access All of the house is open save for a locked room in the hallway where I store my stuff. Other things to note I have had guests up to 21 people, but that size group means a camp out on the floor or even outside. The loft space with the extra futons etc. can get hot during the day in the summer. The loft is also aesthetically very bare bones. For the ideal cushy comfy stay(no futons moved around etc.), I'd say limit your group to six people. That said, some of my most exiting times at the house have been with large groups of up to fifteen people. This means a bit of mayhem and futons and cots strewn about the house, but still fun.
