Queen-sized bed(soft ) full kitchen hot shower and outdoor lounge area and gated parking spot. Guest access We are on the alley between 5th and 6th street. Drive straight to the back and park inside the gate. Other things to note This studio is the most affordable private option in the area and is intentionally offered as a simple, no-frills accommodation, not a luxury stay. All details about the space—including its location as a rear, alley-access (mother-in-law) unit, heating limitations, layout, and amenities—are clearly explained in the listing and in the messages sent immediately after booking. Guests are expected to read all provided information carefully. Ignoring the instructions and arriving at the front of the property instead of following the alley directions can understandably cause confusion. Booking thoughtfully and reviewing the details in advance helps avoid surprises and prevents wasted time for both guests and host. As with any lived-in property, there are ongoing improvements that are handled gradually and responsibly. The space is priced accordingly, and expectations should align with what is offered. Please note that any forgotten items requiring shipping incur a $50 handling fee (to cover time and drop-off) plus shipping costs, and lost house keys may result in a replacement fee of up to $100. Heating Policy – Very Important Studio Casa Cores is intentionally priced as the most affordable private option in downtown Arcata. To keep operating costs reasonable and maintain a safe environment, only the provided wall heaters are permitted. Guests may NOT bring or use any additional heating devices, including space heaters, radiant heaters, oil heaters, or heated blankets. These devices overload the electrical system, create fire risk, and increase moisture and mold in our coastal climate. Heaters are controlled from the main house and must remain plugged in at all times. Do not unplug, move, or attempt to bypass them. Use of unauthorized heating devices may result in immediate cancellation without refund, as this is a safety issue, not a comfort preference. If you require stronger or unlimited heating, this space is not a good fit and another accommodation should be selected.
