Chippewa Trail Lakeside Cottage
Description
Charming, cozy beachfront cottage with beautiful Lake Huron view. Mere steps across the road to sandy Sauble Beach and a quick walk to downtown eateries, cafes, surf shops and a scrumptious bakery. Enjoy the use of 2 kayaks, paddle board, beach chairs and toys for the kids. Barbecue out front with a gorgeous view for meal prep and dining. End your day with a glass of wine on the deck and take in the phenomenal Lake Huron sunset. The cottage is available for families and mature couples only. The space Welcome to our family cottage where we have been making memories for the last 40 years. We ask you treat it with same care and respect you would your own home. From long days of play at the beach, sunset swims and fiercely competitive game nights we are sure you will have a memorable stay at Chippewa Trail Lakeside Cottage. The kitchen space has a great lake view and is fully equipped: large grill, Keurig & french press coffee makers, crock pot, hand blender, new stove & fridge, etc. The dining table seats 6, but we often eat outside at the large 8 seat table on the front lawn. Outside you have access to a propane bbq, as well as a Weber charcoal bbq. In the evening, check out our games cupboard, enjoy a Netflix movie, or bring out the 'smores at our portable fire pit out front (help yourself to the wood in the back shed and please make sure the pit is in the middle of lawn, far from cottage). If working from home, we do have a dedicated workspace in the front living room corner and our WIFI is very reliable. Please help yourself to a selection from our cottage bookshelf and relax in the living room's swivel armchairs, the Muskoka deck chairs or the hammock out front. Out back you'll find a bunkie that sleeps 2, 4 complimentary adult bikes, 4 beach chairs, 2 kayaks and a paddle board -- perfect for a morning or sunset paddle. Plenty of life jackets in various sizes are available, including children's swimming vests. A small sunshade tent is provided to offer protection for your little ones for those long beach days. Do be very cautious when the wind picks up and the waves roll in. It can be very fun to play in, but the shoreline has a significant undertow and there are no lifeguards. The garage has beach toys, balls, frisbees, bocce, corn hole....help yourself, but please take good care and return to the garage and shed as you found them. Guest access PARKING: We have 2 free spots, but do not park anywhere on the property other than in front of the garage (spot 1) or tightly beside the garage (spot 2). Do not park on the flagstone patio behind the cottage. There is a pedestrian walkway beside the cottage and parked cars cannot block this access. BE CAUTIOUS TO WATCH FOR PEDESTRIANS WHEN PULLING IN AND PULLING OUT FROM THE COTTAGE. Please grab our complimentary bikes (adult) and explore the town, visit the falls, grab groceries or play a round at the classic Putterama mini golf (this is the best mini golf). Everything is easily walkable from our cottage: from the beach across the street to the downtown "strip" full of eats, shopping & the occasional concert. Other things to note Cottage water comes from a sand point as their is no water or sewage system in Sauble Beach. The water is fine to bathe in, brush your teeth and cook with. For drinking water, we provide three 10L jugs for use during your stay. If needed, a water refill station is available at the Valumart grocery store in town. We also request that nothing be flushed down the toilet other than toilet paper. Flushing paper towel, feminine products etc can severely damage the septic system.
