Breathtaking Waterfront Views w/ Private Dock

We are very excited to share our most favorite place on the planet with you. Cottages on the sound offer a unique experience to the Outer Banks, especially ours since it's right on the water. You can swim, fish, crab, kayak, canoe, paddle board, jet ski, boat, and more right off your very own dock for the week-- all while being a short 15 minute drive to the hustle and bustle of Kill Devil Hills. Being tucked away on the island is such a sweet, serene escape from the everyday. The space When you finally get to take time off, who wants to be around chaos and tons of people? Not our family! This is what makes our cottage so special!! We often make plans to go do this and that each time we visit. Often though what happens once we arrive is that we don’t want to leave the serenity and peace that we feel stepping into the space and seeing the amazing views that our home offers! But then once that one family member convinces everyone else to venture out, we can go shopping or eat out or put our feet in the sand and play in the ocean waves with only a short 15 minute drive depending on the destination. Our cottage is also unique because unlike many of the other comparable homes you will see listed on Airbnb as you scroll, it is hosted by an actual “host” [a family member] instead of a large management company who is managing hundreds of other homes during your stay! Ginger will be your host, and she cares deeply about what it means to share the family cottage with others. You would not be a reservation number, but instead you would be a special guest. Our family’s goal is to make each guests’ experience special and memorable! Guest access You will have complete access to the 3 level cottage [Ground level--has a separate entrance, Main level, and Upper level] as well as the private backyard area that has spacious decks, outdoor furniture, and a private dock where you can enjoy many things—some of our family favorites: sunrises and sunsets, fishing, crabbing, and Fourth of July fireworks! ***The private Ground level with its separate entrance sleeps 6. It has 3 bedrooms, one of which has a sliding glass door that opens right up to the beautiful backyard sound view. This level also has a kitchenette, a small dining area, and a full bath! ***NOTE: This level is not accessible from the main/upper level. ***The Main level is where you will find our fully-stocked kitchen, a large dining table, a nice island with seating, and a spacious living room with a big comfy sectional and 2 recliners to relax in at the end of your day in the sun! There is also a bedroom and a full bath on this level, perfect for aging guests who can’t do steps all day long! ***The Upper level has the spacious primary bedroom and private bath with large jacuzzi tub as well as a large shower. There is a bunk room attached to the primary bedroom but there is a door so guests can still have their privacy. Also on this level is the last bedroom with another private full bathroom with shower/tub combination. The laundry room has a brand new stackable washer and dryer for quick and easy washing of beach towels and bathing suits that will be much needed during your stay! Other things to note This is the best kept local secret… Most cottages during busy season require Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday rentals. WE DON’T! So another bonus to our cottage which is HUGE [if you’ve never visited the OBX, you can’t fully appreciate] is that you can book on off-days to make travel to and from your vacation much more enjoyable! If your schedule will allow it, we encourage you to book your week-long vacation avoiding the Saturday and Sunday check-in/checkout chaos in the Outer Banks! It will be so worth it!!
