The "HGTV Island Life: Lakeland to Little Gasparilla Island." Our spacious private lot is a walkout to the beach while nestled away in a tropical garden of sea grape and coconut palm trees. Sitting at a base level of 20' with two stories the house presents some of the best unimpeded views of the island and Gulf of Mexico. Access to the island requires a water taxi reservation or private vessel that can be docked at our upgraded spacious shared dock (dock 38 / Marsh Street). Guests may bring their own boat. The mooring fee is $100 per stay. We love sharing our home and the island experience with our guests. A complete house guide with the keys to island logistics is shared with confirmed guests. Little Gasparilla Island is a private bridgeless, barrier island accessible by boat. As one of the final vestiges of natural, wild Florida the island has no roads, cars or commerce. It is the perfect place to escape and relax while being close to the mainland and other barrier islands for restaurants, shopping and essential services. There are no paved roads, just sandy pathways that meander through the sea grapes, cabbage palms and Australian pines. Golf carts or walking are the usual mode of transportation as there are no cars or commerce on the island. At its widest part, the island is only about 1/4-mile- wide, so it is a very easy walk from the dock to your home and/or the beach. While the boat ride from the mainland is only 10 minutes, Little Gasparilla is a world apart. From the moment you arrive, you'll feel your stress evaporate as you truly unplug and reconnect with your family or friends. Most guests to Little Gasparilla Island use Eldred's Marina for access.
