You can enjoy a quiet time in a machiya located in an alley, which has been quietly maintained by the family that created the "sabi-ori" (rust weaving) in Nishijin, Kyoto, during the Meiji era (1868-1912). The space This two-storey Kyomachiya has two four-and-a-half-mat rooms on the second floor. You can sleep on the futon. Other things to note Art shops and cafés are scattered along Kuramaguchi Street, near the machiya, where you can enjoy the transition from sightseeing to everyday life.
