Nestle Inn on Gamble Bay!
Nestle Inn on Gamble Bay!
Description
Unique, cozy studio suite located at the south end of Gamble Bay. Private entrance: follow the mosaic path to the exterior stairway. This is a 1963 mid century home located on the water in Washington. The suite has new windows and doors and a dehumidifier. If you are uncomfortable with any hint of musty-ness, please do not book with me. I have only had one client of many who mentioned it. If there is anything I can do to make you more comfortable - ask! If I can accommodate you - I will! The space The south end of Gamble Bay is very rural and our driveway off the main road brings you through a wooded forest, to the open space at the base of the drive. You will see the water as you get into the clearing there. The tide changes from low to high about every 12 hours. Some tides are at extremes of low - or high depending on the time of year. It is very quiet here. Most activity going by is from wildlife or Kayakers! (If you have your own boat and gear bring it!) The room is very comfortable and has a bit of a Hemingway or even “out of Africa” feeling. Warm colors, layered quilts and a charming oriental rug. The bed has a very cushy pillow topper on it, which lets you sink in. Prepare to breathe deep and unwind. It will be a very sweet experience. Guest access This is private property with beach access. There is a permanent tenant in the cabin which you will drive by coming to the house at the bottom of the driveway. Park to the far right in the parking area in front of the carved bear plaque on a post. You will see the mosaic path on the far side of the house. (North) If you come at night be sure to bring a flash light! Just to add - arriving before dark is a good idea! It is very rural and not much light at night. The stairs to your room are illuminated and on a timer! We can text about where the key is when you are on your way! Please text me with any questions on my private cell phone number during your stay. Texting is best - a call to me from an unknown source will just go through to voicemail. I am extremely responsive to texts! Other things to note Please do NOT use the boat ramp to the north of the lawn. It belongs to a neighbor. Use the step to the beach on the south side of the lawn. There are two posts that mark that spot! At some times of the year the lawn is saturated with water and can be muddy. Best to exit your room and go to the left. Then you can wrap back around to the the chairs at the fire pit. (Also, those chairs can always be moved) While there is an outdoor fire place please ask permission to use it. We have lots of trees here and quite often a burn ban! While there is a wood stove in the room it should only be used for power outages - emergency use. Smoke travels into my dwelling upstairs and is very off putting for me. Burn bans include use of wood stoves.
