Beachside Townhouse | Pools | Tennis/Pickleball

Located in the charming beach side community - SouthBay by the Gulf. We lived in Destin for 4 yrs and we want to give you a locals experience by sharing all our favorite lesser-known spots :) There are 2 community pools (one of which is mere steps away from our front door - both have kiddie pools), tennis courts, a 5 acre lake, and access to South Bay's designated private beach with chair + umbrella service Mar-Nov. The space Sleeps up to 8 people comfortably! The 2nd floor was just renovated with new LVP flooring. The entire condo got a fresh coat of paint in 2024. The tennis courts, pickleball and shuffleboard court was just completely resurfaced and ready for play! Note: Our HOA condo doesn’t allow trailer or boat parking, please message me about places you can park nearby if you’re bringing a boat. BEACH ACCESS The beach is a quick walk (we timed ourselves and it was about 7 min) and a wagon is provided. Parenting hack: bring scooters! That's our kids favorite way to reach the beach. You cross a parking lot, and then take the bridge over the beautiful lake (this is also our favorite spot to watch the sunset!), and then pass the south pool and parking lot and you're at the beach. If you'd like to see a map screenshot of the walk to the beach, just send us a message! OUR TOWNHOUSE Our townhouse is approx 1300 sq feet. Two stories with entrance on the first floor. See photos for blueprint layouts. The second story has 3 bedrooms and two full baths with tub & showers (two rooms with queen beds, one bunk room with a twin on top, a double on the bottom and a twin 'trundle' underneath, a pack n play is available and fits in the master closet. A queen air mattress is available if you let us know ahead of time that you are having more than 8 guests (for additional fee). The main floor has all other spaces - kitchen, half bath, laundry, dining and living space. There is a back patio with string lights, a gas grill and bar height table. The kitchen has lots of pots and pans, with extra items like garlic press and cheese grater - we are avid cooks! POOLS One of the pools + kiddie pool is right outside the door - less than one minute away (our baby monitor works at the pool if that tells you how close it is!) There is another pool closer to the beach, which is heated usually at Thanksgiving and during Spring Break. This pool also has the closest bathroom to the beach. PRO TIP FOR SUMMER TRAVEL The majority of tourists to the area come and go on Saturdays which makes travel into and out of this little beach town on Saturdays super backed up. We suggest checking in or out on any day other than Saturday for the best experience. However, our place is available for Saturday checkin/checkout if that's what you need. If you choose to arrive or checkout on any day other than Saturday, you will encounter much less traffic AND you get to enjoy the very BEST day on the beach in Destin during the summer- which is Saturday when all the other tourists go home :) SNOWBIRDS AND OFF SEASON: We offer significant monthly and weekly discounts on the off season. Send us a message! The off season is our very favorite time at the beach. The weather is wonderful! Guest access There is one designated parking space for our unit, and it has never been hard to find a second space nearby. Other things to note JULY 4TH The holy grail of beach life! Along our beach is one of the most spectacular fireworks shows - we’ve gone for nearly a decade. It’s put on by a family that lives in the next neighborhood over, where we used to live. There’s no official event, no website, no set time (usually close to 9ish) This show may be the closest you ever get to giant fireworks. You feel as if you are in the middle of them. It’s loud, is exciting and truly an experience. As far as you can see to the left and to the right - up and down the beach are fireworks, sparklers, giggling children and sloshy adults :) KIDS & BABIES We got em! We’ve left a few of our kiddos favorite toys in the condo (bins of legos, duplos + books.) There’s a pack n play (bring your own sheet). BEACH CHAIRS + UMBRELLAS March - November there is a beach chair service at our community's private beach. You can bring your own umbrella but the beach service will ask you to set it up behind all the chairs meaning you end up quite far from the ocean. Rent the chairs + umbrella and you’ll have more fun and less things to carry :) We do have some beach chairs in our outdoor closet as well as a formidable collection of beach toys. Parenting tip: Our kiddos bring their scooters as their preferred mode of getting to the beach. Highly recommend! Note: When you reach the beach directly to the left is another private beach. Our beach is to the right when you step onto the sand. WALKABILITY One of our favorite things about our location is its walkability! You can walk to many restaurants and even the grocery store and a few of our favorite local spots: The Local Market and Capriccio cafe (for the best coffee and crepes!). Also within walking distance: Mellow mushroom, several ice cream and candy shops and Roast'd Yoga Bar. You can even walk to Big Kahuna - the absolute best water park anywhere. We’ve lived in 4 different states and nothing compares to the fun at Big Kahuna. If you’re traveling with littles, they even have several different toddler areas that we frequent. RESTAURANTS We created a Guidebook in Airbnb of all our favorite locals spots. Where to get the best baguettes, beers, cheeses, massages, etc. If you’re booking for a special event and want an intimate experience, message us ahead of time for our recommendation because you’ll need a reservation in advance! SPAS Our favorite spa to spend alllll day in is less than 10 minutes away. Book a service (or ask for a day pass! Or our favorite hack, book a brow wax and enjoy access to the spa all day long). This is the kind of spa you can spend all day in - hot tub, sauna, zero gravity chairs, order lunch and drink champaign. -------- We’re here for you! Ask us anything and we’ll do all we can to make your stay amazing. In return we ask that you treat our place like your own. It’s our home-away-from-home. Please no parties and no pre-approved guests. We have several neighbors who live here year round and look out for our place while we are away. xoxoxo - Kelly, Andrew and kiddos —— Dates of rentals are guaranteed (exception: e.g. fire, mandatory evacuation due to hurricane) when payment has been received in full. We encourage our guests to buy travel insurance for coverage in the instance that interruptions force your stay to be canceled. Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. We follow a strict cancellation policy and do not issue refunds unless The National Weather Service or local government authorities order mandatory evacuations. Additionally, Florida weather in the summer can be unpredictable; in the event of loss of power and/or internet, or any other "out of our control" situation due to local storms, we will not grant refunds.
