This place takes its name from the famous battle of 217 BC fought between the Roman army and the Carthaginian army (led by Hannibal). Today this area is classified as one of outstanding natural beauty, where traditional farming methods are still very much in evidence, the major crops being olives and wine grapes. The apartments have been luxuriously finished using traditional building methods and materials combined with the latest technology.
