Description
A comfortable family camp, tucked into the trees, on the shore of one of the Island's favorite swimming lakes. Our camp has beautiful views and a homey vibe (think 70's formica, puzzles, books, tons of blankets). Easy access to Acadia National Park offers endless activities, while the house offers privacy and quiet, private lake access, boats and swimming. Our family has gathered here every summer for 30 years. This is not a hotel-like experience; you will feel the good memories! The space The camp is a few steps from the lakefront, with your own dock, float and boats. The house has 3 levels: The top one consists of one cozy bedroom, main floor has a kitchen, bathroom, living room and master bedroom, and the lower level has a living area, bedroom and bathroom. There is a bunk house close to the main house with a custom build queen sized bunk bed. The bunkhouse has electricity, but you have to walk back to the main house for bathroom facilities. You can comfortably park 3 cars in the circular drive. Guest access You will have access to the whole space. Other things to note There are two kayaks and a canoe, plenty of life jackets (including for children). There is high speed internet (it does not extend to the bunk house). The kitchen is very well equipped. We are on the "quiet side" of the Island, near Somesville & Southwest Harbor, about a 20 minute drive to Bar Harbor. The closest Island shuttle stop is in Somesville. The closest groceries are about a 15 minute drive.
