NO CLEANING OR PET FEES + LOCALLY OWNED! Our peaceful cabin is located on a smaller bay of Lake Superior so it's usually warmer than the main part of the lake. We have kayaks, SUP, and a canoe, plus a dock if you bring a small boat. After a day of hiking or fishing, nothing beats the private sauna. Picture yourself enjoying the warmth before a refreshing dip in the lake—or just relaxing with a view of the bay. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, so working from the cabin is a breeze. The space This is the cabin that I grew up in, so it has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. This home was not purchased as an investment property, and we live and work locally. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, utensils, a blender, and other common items. There is a shower (no tub), washer/dryer, and multiple beds on two levels of the house. There is a shed for your gear, and a dock in the summer. The yard is spacious and private. In the winter, once the bay freezes over, you'll have access to ice fishing and snowmobiling. Please let us know if you need to use a tent or other supplies for ice fishing. We are happy to lend you what we have. Some Airbnbs in the area are not owned and maintained by local people, but our cabin has been in our family since it was built in the 1980s. We live less than 20 minutes away, and our cleaner is a family friend who is also local to the area. We do our very best to use local businesses for our needs, and we are happy to recommend local artists and businesses for dining, souvenirs, etc. Guest access Our property features plenty of waterfront space, a dock (summer), large yard, canoe, kayaks, stand up paddleboard, and sauna. We also have a gas fire pit, grill, and sun loungers for the warmer months. Other things to note Please keep in mind that you will be in the woods, so things like bugs and critters are common and part of life here in the UP. In my 40 years of living in the UP, I have never encountered an animal I felt threatened by in the area, but please let me know if you have any concerns. I am happy to answer more specific questions. We make every effort to provide items we think will enhance your stay, but if you feel we should have other items available, just let me know! We all have different needs, so I am happy to supply items if guests would like them. Also, I'm a photographer, and I'd be happy to offer a discounted session during your time at our cabin.
