The Shady House

This 3000 sq ft home is fully furnished. one floor, with a 1500 sq ft game and banquet room. The area is quiet and a small town . The large flat yard offers a serene place to relax and play. Surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains and the Cherokee National Forest, privacy is certain! The home is less than 30 minutes from 4 major cities and several tourist attractions. I live in a small apartment seperate from the original entire home. I enjoy my privacy, so you won't see me unless needed. The space This home was once my grandparents who also ran a country store in a very small town in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains. The main living area has a living room, dining and kitchen. 3 private bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The old store has been renovated into a large game room including a half bathroom, gaming area, and additional sleeping area. An old family homestead, completely renovated into a lodge and recreation center, makes spacious an understatement! With 2 living areas - a game room - fully furnished everything and decorated as if someone lives there, you will feel like you are visiting grandma's house on one side and a fun room on the other! 3000 square feet - on over 1 acre - all flat and surrounded by mountain views, the property is set up for large groups to play lots of games and have big fun! The area around the home is mostly fields. Just a short country block down to the corner you can eat good ole southern home cooking at the diner or visit the 421 Country Store across the street. Dollar Genera is in walking distance. Shady Valley is occupied by four Nature Conservancy Preserves and is centrally located to several major cities, parks, and outdoor recreation. Guest access The entire property and all it's contents are there for the guest to use at their convenience. A lockbox is on the front door and the code willl be provided prior to arrival. There are 2 extra sets of keys in the guest book. I am the property owner and maintain a small apartment on the right side of the house. It's completely separated from the main House. I like my privacy, so you won't see or notice me unless you need something. Other things to note There are four ways into Shady Valley, TN. 1) coming from Bristol on route 421 over South Holston Mountain - good roads - beautiful views - curvy for about 15 minutes. 2) Coming from Elizabethton, TN via route Hwy 90 you would be traveling over Cross Mountain, good roads, narrow and curvy for about 15 minutes. 3) Coming from the north Mountain City, TN via 421 traveling over Iron Mountain - good roads - curvy for about 15 minutes. 4) Coming from Damascus, VA - via Route 133 traveling through Backbone Rock State Park - good roads, very curvy for about 15 minutes, this is the only route that does not cross over a mountain. Shady Valley is like a bowl with Damascus being the "spout" creating a beautiful rocky river well known for it's wonderful fly fishing!
