The Humbold-Toiyabe National Forest is the largest national forest in the lower 48 states and is home to several species of plants and animals unique to this region. Many hiking trail heads within walking distance. This home is located in the middle of a National Forest area and has few commercial resources available. Gas and groceries are at the bottom of the Mountain, approx 20 miles away. There is no public transportation up and down the mountain. There are two dining/drinking establishments within 3 miles. The Retreat at Charleston Peak is 3 miles down the road, has a gaming bar and restaraunt, as well as hotel rooms. The Mt. Charleston Lodge, 3 miles up the road, has a great restaraunt/bar and cabins available. A Clark County Library branch is located within walking distance.
