Full Winter Season lease available @ $32,000 + utilities The space 8 minutes from Stratton Mountain Village, this newly renovated 1940's farmhouse is a collaborative work of several different local artists and crafts people. It holds a special place in the hearts of those who have lived there and friends that often visited. Made with a combination of love and creativity, there is a profound meditative ease that overcomes you as your gaze lingers on the magical light coming through and reflected from the glass art that surrounds you; the hand forged fire screen; the character of the hand crafted oak doors of a likeness that exists no where else - a truly amazing tribute to expert craftsmanship with whimsical glass designs set into it in amber and red. Combine these and the high end finishings: Vermont green slate stone counters and farmers' sink, locally harvested pine slab island. The Great Room has 3 custom stained glass windows on one side and three glass double doors sets on the other, overlooking the slate patio with grill, facing the apple orchard, the expansive meadows and the mountains beyond. There is also a separate family room designed for children, complete with TV, Hulu streaming service, DVD movie collection, Nintendo Wii, lava lamps and bean bag furniture that can be unzipped into a queen and king bed for slumber parties! The 4 bedrooms: king, queen, 2 bunk beds (4 twins), 1 bunk bed and a twin (3 twins). Forced air heating system was fully revamped, quickly and easily heating entire home within moments of turning it on. Fully furnished, stocked with essentials, firewood readily available, this is a very special place to stay that you will always remember. Caretaker cottage is right next door so help comes quickly for anything house related, including snow removal at first light so that you’ll never miss fresh tracks on snowy mornings! Guest access Nordic trails can be skied, skinned, hiked, or snowshoed to easily from the house, whether you'd like to do laps around the meadow or explore the hilly wooded trails off the end of the road. There is also a very large fire pit surrounded by stone for making s'mores and/or terrain park ambiance at the highest point on the property with brush piles nearby to feed the flames. A patio with grill is located just outside the kitchen windows with grill hooked into the household propane, so that you won't ever have to swap out a spent tank! Just a short walk down the road will bring you to The Rawsonville Roost, where you can shop at Meulemans' Craft Draughts owned and operated by our neighbors Pat and Greg who maintain the nordic trails at the end of our road, grab the best coffee you'll ever have at Jess and Kristoffer's Ungrounded Coffee or a sit down meal of home cooking at Fran's Kitchen. All three of these businesses are owned and operated by close friends and neighbors. Be sure to tell them that you are staying at Jodi's and Adam's house and get the skinny on local happenings :-) Other things to note Fall foliage in Vermont is amazing! So is being an 8 minutes drive to Stratton's base area. There is even a giant fire pit with stone surround for all you Beltane lovers! The meadow is perfect for stargazing and the apple's are plentiful, varied in type and incredibly delicious in the orchard. The nordic trails are expansive and can be easy and flat or technical and steep, depending what you are looking for. Sledding is pretty great here too
