Mostly everything you'll need is a short stroll or pedal away, including restaurants, a grocery store, liquors stores, shops and other amenities. The trailhead for the Cumberland Forest and its endless singletrack is a minute pedal from the doorstep, while other nearby trails include Forbidden Plateau (10 min), and the Mt Washington Bike Park (25 minutes). Come winter, Mount Washington's nordic and alpine skiing is 25 minutes away, with Cumberland offering a much more vibrant apres scene than on the mountain. Other local attractions include Lake Park (4km) for rock climbing and a freshwater beach, historic Chinatown and No. 1 Japanese Town in Coal Creek Historic Park (as well as disc golf), and fishing, golf, hiking, beach combing, shopping, dining in the surrounding Comox Valley area.
