Large parts of the towns and cities along the Ahr were flooded and, in some cases, severely destroyed. Many people have lost their homes, their livelihoods, or even their lives. <br>We are deeply saddened by the devastating effects of this disaster and share in the suffering of those affected. <br>The Hotel Maravilla itself was spared from the flooding. As a result, the hotel—which had been closed due to the pandemic—was converted into an emergency shelter overnight. Many residents of the Ahr Valley found a safe place to stay with us.
