INCLUDED 👇 The space Del Norte Historic District is one of the most unique and interesting places in Phoenix. Located minutes to Downtown - it was originally conceived of by State of Arizona Territorial Veterinarian Dr. James Collier Norton, and opened to the public on April 3r, 1927. Initially promoted as the "beautiful subdivision," the vision was to have a neighborhood of streets lined in the then-popular English Cottage Revival style. That vision evolved as the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s (and their respective histories) came and went - so you will see an interesting diversity of 16 architectural styles on our streets. We are the only neighborhood in Phoenix to be surrounded by parks on three sides - Encanto Executive Course to the West, Encanto Golf Course (3rd oldest golf course in Arizona, home to the historic Norton House) to the North, and Encanto Park (including the Enchantment Island Amusement Park) to the East. All three are a short walk away. I believe the space to be the original 1930 carriage house. Looking at archival aerial shots, there isn’t any evidence that it was not always there. At some point it may have been a garage (still has the (non-functional) garage door outside. When we got it, it was already a guest house. The space was carefully curated by a local designer to create a unique and a special experience for our guests. Outside is your private fenced patio space.
