The Sea Pear Cottage - Views + beach access

Welcome to the Sea Pear Cottage! This is where we live, available throughout the year when we travel or stay with family. We are a writer/photographer couple with two small children. The house will be tidy and clean when you arrive, but some of our personal effects and photos will still be visible - it's not set up like a traditional quick-turn vacation rental. In turn, we ask our guests to treat our home like it's their own. Business license: LIC046667 The space We are one block from the beach - you step out the front door and it's a one-minute walk down a wooded trail out to the beach. It's a skinny part of the island, so in the back there are views across the mash to the Folly River. We typically have guests staying in the downstairs Airbnb (accessed from the back of the property) - we expect our guests upstairs to be respectful. Upstairs guests have their own porch in the front and back (pictured). The outdoor shower and grill area are shared. We empty one dresser in the master bedroom and close our closets. There are hooks for hang-up clothes on the back of doors. Guest access Guests have access to everything in our home except for our small office (used for storage when traveling) and attic/storage lofts above the living room. Bring your boat! We have a slip at Mariners Cay marina available as a $350/week add-on during your trip. You're also welcome to reach out about the slip if you see this but stay somewhere else. We provide 2-4 beach chairs. Do not let them get wet with ocean water, and please rinse hinges off after each use. BYO beach towels and umbrella. Other things to note • We can't allow dogs in our house because of allergy issues. • Children are welcome - we have two small children - but it's not a place for rough housing or leaving unsupervised pre-teens. We have white floors, walls and furniture that require attentive parents to keep them looking good! • We use a local service, High Tide Cleaning, that provides their own towels and linens. They do not provide beach towels so BYO beach towels! Also, they are strict on check in/check out times so we are no longer able to offer early check in or late check out. They provide two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, one roll of paper towels, and a travel size shampoo and conditioner. Please byo if you need more. Please note that the cleaning fee is the exact cost of the cleaning. If anything is not to your satisfaction, we appreciate the opportunity to let High Tide fix the problem versus taking a hit in a review. •  TV: Our Roku TVs may be logged into our services, and you're welcome to use them or log into your own. Note that we no longer have cable. • The Nest doorbell is there for emergencies and is not regularly monitored. The Nest smoke/CO detectors inside have a motion-sensing nightlight feature. They do not have cameras or microphones. Parents of small children: We have a pack 'n play by request but BYO sheets. Please clean up/organize any of our toys your kids use before departure.
