It is 25 minutes by highway from Santiago de Compostela, an hour and a quarter from Pontevedra and Coruña. It enjoys cultural and sports activities. A hiking trail starts from the Paseo Marítimo and runs along the entire coast. One of its most emblematic festivals, the Medieval Fair.
