Built in French colonial style, with generous verandahs, extensive gardens, en-suite bathrooms, underfloor heating, BBQ, and a wood burner – perfect for a weekend stay. The space Set in 16 acres of beautiful grounds, you can enjoy views across our herb gardens, generous lawns and the neighbouring farmland to the rising sun across the ocean. Listen the songs of korimako, riroriro, tui, thrush and the rolling surf while relaxing on our generous verandahs, swimming in our magnesium pool, bathing outside in the hot-tub, treating yourself to an infra-red sauna or making use of the gym. Underfloor heating, and the wood-fire make our cottage cosy in the short-winters, or open the doors and let the outside in from your own private garden. A double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (and bath) is perfect for a couple, and the twin-room (with it's own bathroom) works really well for the kids or friends. These beds can be joined to make a super-king bed as well. There is a separate 6 bedroom homestead beside the cottage, and if this is rented during your stay the facilities will be shared. There is also a yoga studio on site, which can be made available at an addition cost. Guest access Guests can access the infra-red sauna and gym (located in the cottage building) and spa pool, swimming pool, and trampoline. They can also explore the expansive grounds of Cape South (16-acres) or wander up the driveway to climb a nearby hill for breathtaking views of Waipuka (Ocean) beach and one of the largest sand-dune systems on the East Coast. Other things to note The Cape South grounds may be shared with guests from the homestead. The swimming pool, infra-red sauna, spa pool and gym are also shared facilities. Water is a scarce resource and we actively encourage guests to conserve water during their stay. Water is collected from the roof of the homestead and supplemented from the a spring that feeds the Waipuka stream on a neighbouring farm.
