Home in Shoreham
Description
Stay in a rare architect-designed coastal retreat in Shoreham, surrounded by trees and only a short walk to the beach and local café. Originally designed by Archibald Prize-winning artist Clifton Pugh, this peaceful home blends mid-century character, contemporary comfort and a deep connection to nature. Wake to birdsong, unwind by the fire, cook in the retro-inspired kitchen, explore beaches, wineries and walking trails, then return to your own private sanctuary among the gums. The space Why guests love it • Rare architectural home designed by Clifton Pugh • Short walk to Shoreham Pines Beach and local café • Peaceful bush setting with treetop views • Fireplace, hydronic heating and bedroom air conditioning • Beautiful linen, Aesop amenities and considered interiors • Close to Flinders, Red Hill, Pt Leo Estate, wineries and coastal walks • Ideal for couples, small families, design lovers and slow weekends away This is not a standard beach house. It is a creative, design-led retreat with a strong sense of place. Set among trees beside Stony Creek, the home has a warm, natural palette of timber, glass, vintage furniture, contemporary art and handcrafted ceramics. Large windows frame the landscape, creating a treehouse-like feeling throughout the house. The living area is made for slow mornings, long lunches and quiet evenings by the fire. There is a library, board games, a study nook, high-speed NBN and streaming services for relaxed nights in. The kitchen is retro-inspired and well-equipped, with an induction cooktop, dishwasher, pantry basics, specialty tea and coffee, and locally made crockery. The home has hydronic heating, a Cheminées Philippe fireplace, energy-efficient bedroom air conditioning, and retractable fly screens to welcome the sea breeze. Sleeping configuration Sleeps up to five guests. • Master bedroom: queen bed, ensuite, treetop views • Mezzanine bedroom: queen bed, open loft-style room with beautiful views • Third bedroom / second living space: king single day bed The home is designed for immersion in the surrounding landscape, with expansive windows and uninterrupted treetop views. Bedrooms do not have traditional blinds or curtains, so morning light is part of the experience. Eye masks are provided for guests who prefer a darker sleep. Outdoors The house is surrounded by native trees, birdsong and the sounds of the creek. Guests can enjoy two outdoor seating areas, BBQ facilities and a fire pit. You may see kookaburras, parrots, frogs, koalas and, if lucky, the local powerful owl. Nearby Shoreham Pines Beach is a short walk away, with coastal and bush tracks close by. The local café is around three minutes on foot. Flinders, Merricks, Red Hill, Pt Leo Estate, wineries, galleries, golf courses, Peninsula Hot Springs, Bushrangers Bay and Mornington Peninsula walks are all within easy reach.
